On the west coast the white beaches are very unique and known to be the best beaches of the North. The towns have lots of restaurants, fish restaurants, B & B, shops and other stuff to attract tourists.
On the east coast you find more quet sea due to the protection from the Atlantic sea that Jutland offers.
Find many of the restaurants, shops, attractions, accommodations etc. in Northern Jutland in Denmark on shopindk.dk.
Løkken
The tourist town Løkken is known to have one of the nicest beaches in The North. The small whit beach houses are placed next to each other on the long and wide beach with very fine white sand. The sea is nice, fresh and clean. Mostly a few waves. The town is a nice place to have a nice and calm vacation
There is a nice pedestrian street with lots of shops and nice restaurants and cafes. Many nice holiday houses and lots of attractions very nereby. Danish National Beach Volley Cup is kept here every summer in July.
Skagen
This is the town farthest to the North. Here you find a special light because of the two seas that surround Skagen and Grenen. Skagen is a very popular place to visit. It has a very cozy marina and there are good chances to catch dinner from one of the piers. Many famous Danish painter - Skagensmalerne lived in Skagen and made fantastic paintings - some are on exhibition in Skagen Museum.
Aalborg
Aalborg is the largest city of North Jutland and is situated on the coast of the fjord "Limfjorden" (which by the way translated to English has the charming name - The Glue Fjord) The city is very nice though and this is where we go when we want to power shop. Aalborg is full of shops, hotels and restaurants and is definately worth a visit - you'll probably drive right through it if you take the high way to North Jutland.
Aalborg is well known for its night life and "Jomfru Ane Street" is a whole street with ONLY bars, restaurants and diskoteques. Aalborg also has a casino.
Saltum
Saltum is a small town and area situated 10 km. south of Løkken - towards Aalborg. The town has a restaurant and a nice mall - some art and crafts. When you drive towards Saltum Beach you'll see a big area full of holiday houses. This is a very nice spot to have a vacation. The beach is more quiet than the busier beaches in for instance popular Løkken and Skagen.
Nørre Lyngby
Very small town on the west coast 5 km. north of Løkken. The town has a small merchant and a nice pub, Fisherman´s Rest. The beach here is more rough and has more stones - not very child friendly. There are beautiful steap sand dunes - be carefull - sometimes they fall. Once an old cemetary nearby fell to the beach and people could find real bones from dead people in the sand.
The picture to the right is taken right in Nørre Lyngby - the view speaks for itself.
Furreby
Just north of Løkken you find Furreby, which is a very small and cozy place to stay. Mostly holiday houses, nice little gardens and a beautiful small creek. Sometimes you can even catch a trout here. The place is only 5 min. walk from Løkken center, but it's still very peaceful and quiet with beautiful nature.
The West Coast is where you find the most beautiful beaches in The North. Fine white sand and not too many people. The sea is mostly alive with some waves and so - not a place to let children swim on their own - but very nice - VERY nice. On the West Coast you find the popular towns: Løkken, Blokhus, Nørre Lyngby, Lønstrup and more.
Perfect sea/beach for kite surfing, kiting, wind surfing and sometimes even surfing.
East Coast
On the East Coast you find a more calm sea, but the beaches are not quite as white and clean as west coast. Here, as opposed to on the west coast, you find small marinas that are very cozy. Due to the calmer sea on the east coast there is more sailing activities
